Buyer FAQ - Jupiter Artland Building

1. General Questions

  • Scotsy is the trading name for Scotsy Ltd.
  • It is an Art Marketplace for Scottish Art, which is sold directly by the Scotland-associated artists themselves.
  • We welcome art buyers and collectors from all over the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

    2. Questions on 'using the site as a Customer/Buyer'

    Method 1 Mobile

    • Use the Search Icon’ in the ‘mobile footer‘.
    • Start typing in the search box, what you are looking for eg. ‘tree print’,  seascape ‘painting’ or something else.
    • As soon as you start typing, a list of relevant items with thumbnails will appear. Then the more you type to make the search more relevant, the more accurate the selection that will be offered.
    • Select the artwork to go to the product page for full details.

    Method 2 Mobile

    • Use the Artwork product filters on mobile.
    • Click on the three horizontal lines menu button (on the right of the Scotsy logo at the top). Select your required category for a list of artworks in that category.
    • (You can use ‘Default Sorting’ if required to help with your search)
    • Scroll down to the bottom of the artwork product list to the filters (price, edition, subject, etc.) and whittle down your selection.
    • Again, select the artwork to go to the product page for full details.

    Method 1 Desktop

    • Use the ‘Search Box’ at the top of any page header, on the right-hand side of the Scotsy logo.
    • Start typing in the box what you are looking for.
    • Again, in a similar way to mobile, keep typing and adding more letters until you can see a relevant entry.
    • Click on it for the artwork product page.

    Method 2 Desktop

    • Use categories, and the ‘Default Sorting setting’ if it helps.
    • Select your required category for a category list page.
    • Then use the filters on Left Hand side bar to whittle down your selection.
    • Click on your required product thumbnail image for the artwork product page.

    This procedure applies to both Mobile and Desktop:

    • Found something you like that you might want to consider now or later for future purchases: then ‘Add it to your Wishlist.
    • To add an artwork product to your ‘Wishlist’, just click on the red heart outline icon located next to the artwork listing.
    • The heart changes to solid red. Click again to return the heart to an outline, to remove it from the wishlist.
    • There is a black heart icon in the mobile footer menu, at the bottom of the screen, on the left-hand side of the footer.
    • Click on it for your artwork product wishlist summary of all selected artworks.
    • Each wish list item is displayed with a thumbnail image, a ‘View’ button and a ‘red circle with a – symbol’ at, the top right of the thumbnail. Also, you can scroll through the items in your list.
    • Click on the thumbnail image to view a short description.
    • Click on the blue ‘View’ button to view the detailed, full artwork listing.
    • Click on the ‘red circle with the – symbol’ to remove the item from the wishlist.

    • There is a ‘sticky’ red heart in a red circle icon bottom left of the screen viewing area on the desktop.
    • Click on it for your artwork product wishlist summary of all selected artworks.
    • Each wish list item is displayed with a thumbnail image, a ‘View’ button and a ‘red circle with a – symbol ‘ at, the top right of the thumbnail. Also, you can scroll through the items in your list.
    • Click on the thumbnail image to view a short description.
    • Click on the blue ‘View’ text button to view the detailed, full artwork listing.
    • Click on the ‘red circle with the – symbol‘ to remove the item from the wishlist.

    3. Other Buyer questions

    • You will receive your Artwork from the artist. He/she is responsible for the packaging and shipment and everything else regarding the item.
    • The artist will show their estimated order processing time and dispatch times on the Artwork product page.
    • You might also like to check the Artist’s shipping policy if required for the timeframe to your particular destination. You can view full details on the artwork page under the Artist Name Policies tab. The tabs are in a row under the ‘add to basket’ button and alongside the ‘Artwork Description’ and ‘Additional Information’ tabs.
    • Please ensure you are happy with the artist’s timeframe to avoid disappointments for missed occasions etc.

    • An artwork query really needs to be directed to the artist.
    • There is an “Enquiry/ask the artist” green button on the artwork product page.

    • Click on the product page button, fill in the enquiry form, and your enquiry will be sent directly to the artist for them to respond to you.
    • Scotsy sells worldwide and many artists will ship to any destination. However, with some artists, they may limit shipping to the UK only.
    • Limited shipping destinations apply, particularly if it’s a large item(s), which are uneconomical to ship abroad.
    • In addition, the latter items and high-value items, maybe “local pickup” only.
    • If in doubt, please check the individual artists shipping policy under the policies tab, on the artwork product listing page. This is one of the tab selections below the “Enquiry/ask the artist” button and the “add to basket”.
    • Notably, if your selected artwork doesn’t go to your entered delivery address, you will normally, not be able to check out using the Order button.
    • Please first wait for the relevant processing and shipping time to pass.
    • If you are then still waiting or, you receive a damaged item, then in the first instance, please contact your artist (See “I have an artwork query” FAQ above for instructions on contacting an artist directly).
    • If after contacting your artist the issue has not been resolved, then please contact Scotsy by going to the Contact Us page. We will do our best to help.
    • Please be aware that Scotsy is a third party and we are not responsible for the artworks or the delivery of items sold on our website.
    • If you are not happy with your artwork purchase, please contact the artist seller before leaving feedback.
    • The artist will most likely be able to sort out any issues and or arrange a refund/replacement for you.
